A\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pewtrusts.org\/en\/research-and-analysis\/reports\/2016\/01\/a-look-at-access-to-employer-based-retirement-plans-and-participation-in-the-states\">recent report from the Pew Charitable Trusts<\/a>\u00a0found that more than 30 million full-time employees in the United States don\u2019t have access to retirement savings plans at work. Other barriers, like account fees and minimum contribution requirements, can make it even more difficult for people to start saving.<\/p><p>Now, there\u2019s an easy way to save that can help eliminate these common barriers.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/1.usa.gov\/1RtWf1U\"><em>my<\/em>RA<\/a>\u00a0was developed by the U.S. Department of the Treasury to make saving for retirement simple, safe, and affordable.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><ul><li>It costs nothing to open an account and there are no fees<\/li><li>Savers can contribute any amount they choose ($5, $50, $500 \u2013 whatever fits your budget!)\u00b9<\/li><li>Withdraw the money you put into your account at any time without paying tax and penalty.<\/li><li>The account safely earns interest<sup>2<\/sup><\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Saving for retirement has never been easier<\/strong><\/p><p>Getting started with\u00a0<em>my<\/em>RA is quick and easy. In fact, it only takes about 10 minutes to enroll. Each saver will need their social security number, driver\u2019s license or other ID, and the name and birthdate of at least one beneficiary.<\/p><p><em>my<\/em>RA also gives people the flexibility to choose how they want to fund their account. Savers can contribute to a\u00a0<em>my<\/em>RA account from a paycheck via direct deposit, or from a checking or savings account.
