Even though my mother never had a lot of money, we never felt as though we were &#8220;poor.&#8221; She always paid her bills and we always had clothes, food and all the things we needed growing up.<\/p><p>I learned a lot about basic budgeting from my mother. The rest I learned from school in formal financial literacy classes. Being able to give back to the community I serve has been a long-time passion for me.
